Decide Side

Privacy policy

Last updated: April 30, 2026

1. Who we are

“Decide Side” (this website and its online tools) is operated in connection with executive coaching and advisory services. This policy describes how we handle personal data when you use the site, including the self-assessment and team perception features.

2. What we collect

Depending on how you use the service, we may process:

  • Account and contact details — e.g. your name and email when you start an assessment, and similar details for people you invite to a survey.
  • Assessment and survey content — your answers, scores and related data needed to run the self-view and perception comparison (stored so you and invited participants can use the product as designed).
  • Email preferences — if you opt in to marketing or tips, we store your consent and related timestamps.
  • Technical and usage data — information typical of websites, such as server logs and analytics (our site may use Vercel Analytics) to understand traffic and improve the service. That data is generally collected in a form that does not directly identify you beyond standard analytics practices.

3. How we use your information

We use this information to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the site and the assessment/survey experience.
  • Send transactional or service-related emails, such as survey links and notifications about results, when the product flow requires it.
  • Send optional updates or resources only if you have consented to marketing/tips; you can withdraw that consent (see “Your choices” below).
  • Meet legal obligations, protect rights and safety, and address abuse or security issues.

4. Lawful basis (where GDPR / UK GDPR applies)

Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, we rely on appropriate legal bases, including: (a) performance of a contract and steps you request (running the tool you use); (b) our legitimate interests in operating and improving the service, provided your interests and rights do not override those; and (c) your consent, where we ask for it (e.g. optional marketing emails). You may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

5. Who we share data with

We work with service providers (processors) to run the site, including:

  • Database and application hosting — e.g. to store assessment data securely and serve the application.
  • Email delivery — to send survey invites, results, and (if you opt in) marketing mailings through our email provider.
  • Analytics and infrastructure — e.g. to host the site, measure performance, and understand usage in the aggregate.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not use your data for high-risk automated decision-making in the sense of substituting a human for core decisions about you.

6. International transfers

Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where we transfer personal data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland to countries not deemed adequate by the relevant authority, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) as required by applicable law.

7. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, including to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer required, we delete it or de-identify it, subject to legal retention obligations.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, or request portability of data you provided.
  • Withdraw consent for processing based on consent.
  • Unsubscribe from marketing: use the link in any marketing email we send, or contact us using the details below.

To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country, where applicable.

10. California / US state residents

If you are a California resident, state privacy laws (such as the CCPA/CPRA) may give you additional rights, including the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, and the right to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and certain uses of sensitive information, as those terms are defined by law. We do not “sell” personal information in the common sense. For requests, contact us as below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. Depending on the law, you may designate an authorized agent; we may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests.

11. Children

The service is not directed to children under 16 (or the digital age of consent in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have collected a child’s data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes may be communicated by posting on this page or, where appropriate, by email. Continued use of the site after the effective date of changes may constitute acceptance of the updated policy, where the law allows.

13. Contact

For questions about this policy, or to exercise your privacy rights, contact: privacy@decideside.com (or the contact address published on the site). We will respond in line with applicable law.
